Building Information: 
The Eco-Justice Center was founded in 2004 as a ministry of the Racine Dominicans. The mission of the organization is environmental education and care of Earth in the context of community, contemplation, creativity and cultivation. Our center sits on 15 acres of land that consists of pasture, gardens, woods, stream, pond, and a treehouse. Renewable energy sources in the form of solar panels, a wind turbine, and geothermal heating/cooling help power the center. Animals include alpacas, goats, chickens, guinea hens, geese, ducks, and cats. All features of the center provide educational opportunities for our great community.

Visitor Experience

Visitor Experience: 
Visitors can enjoy walking the grounds using a self-guided tour book if desired. Buildings that will be open to the public include the red education building, barn, granary, and treehouse. Visitors will enjoy viewing the many animals and seeing the progress of the extensive gardens. A brand new labyrinth featuring native wildflower plants in currently being designed and constructed for visitors to walk through on the date of the Open House. Staff will be available to answer questions, give directions to various features on the grounds and provide brief tours upon request.
